Eileen launched SilverBranch Communications in 1996, building on a winning track record at the intersection of communication and policy to craft innovative growth solutions for a range of clients encompassing large and small not-for-profit organizations, individuals, policy groups, and tech startups. Client-side experience includes work in development communication at Lifespan, a Rhode Island-based hospital network, and a series of progressively senior roles at the Hospital Association of Rhode Island, culminating in appointment as vice president of communications.

EDUCATION: A.B. degrees in political science and journalistic writing from Brown University. Grad work at UMass.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS: A board member of the New England Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (NEAHP), Eileen is delighted to serve as chairperson of the Association's 2012 annual educational conference. She has also served in a series of board and leadership positions within the New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCo.) Eileen is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD), and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP.)

COMMUNITY: A graduate of Leadership Rhode Island, Eileen has served the community as a board member of The Greenwich Odeum, Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island, and the Rhode Island Organ Donor Awareness Committee, and as a member of the public relations advisory committee of Opera Providence. She is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Save The Bay. A former advisory panel member for Tech-Collective, a tech industry trade group in Rhode Island, and the American Heart Association, she currently serves on the Community Advisory Committee of WRNI, Rhode Island's NPR affiliate.

FOR: Transcendent writing and incisive thought. A good laugh. Integrity. Creativity. Compassion. Justice. Generosity. Empathy. Loyalty. Primary colors.  Sacred places. The echo of history. The welcome jolt of a really, really good idea.

AGAINST: Pomposity. Dishonesty. Waste. Weak coffee. Bad hair days. Opportunism (in contrast with opportunity, which is a good thing.) Long winters in boring shoes. Unfulfilled potential.

     I was a kid who was always in trouble
